Thai Basil Shrimp

Classic Thai restaurant dish you can make at home!

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce

  • 3 tablespoons sugar

  • cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + few tablespoons of water)

  • Peeled shrimp


  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced into long pieces

  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1 large carrot, sliced into disks

  • 1 handful of thai basil, chopped finely


  • Trader Joe's Multigrain Blend w/ Vegetables (or white rice or brown rice)



Directions

Chop and prepare all of the vegetables. Peel the shrimp if needed.


Heat a large pan on high heat and add a drizzle of oil. Add the garlic and stir until fragrant. Add the carrots and cook for 3-5 minutes. Add the bell pepper and cook for another 3-5 minutes until soft.


Pour vegetables in another bowl or push them to the edges of your pan. Add another drizzle of oil and add your shrimp to the pan. Sprinkle with salt/ pepper and cook until shrimp turn pink, making sure to flip each one over.


Once the shrimp are cooked, stir the vegetables back into the pan and add all of the sauce ingredients. Add a few tablespoons of the cornstarch slurry to the pan and stir. Add the chopped Thai basil. Stir until the sauce thickens and everything comes together.



Serve with your grain of choice!
